Successful pitches here will result in the awarding of an additional $80K in prize funding.
On September 8th, 2020 we held an information session to discuss upcoming deadlines in regards to the second phase white paper and the next pitch event. The video recoding, frequently asked questions, white paper submission form, and more can be found below.

Q: When is the next proposal due in by?
A: The "more detailed" five (5) page white-paper submission is due in by midnight (EST) October 9th, 2020.
Q: Where should proposals be submitted?
A: Proposals MUST be submitted using the form below in PDF format. If you have any problems submitted, please let us know.
Q: When should we expect our mentors to be reaching out to us?
A: Mentors should have already made first contact with you, but if they have not reached out directly to you and/or your team members by Monday, September 14th, 2020, please let us know and we will get you connected.
Q: When is the next pitch day?
A: The round three pitch event will take place virtually as part of the Innovation Opportunity Conference (IOC) on October 22nd, 2020 with the time to be determined.
Q: Do we need to register for the next pitch day?
A: YES. Please use this link to register for the upcoming Innovation Opportunity Conference (IOC).
Q: What is the pitch format for this round?
A: The pitch event and format will be exactly the same as the first event. Presenters will have ten (10) minutes to present their innovations live which will be followed by five (5) minutes of Q&A by the judges.
Q: How will the scoring be done for this round?
A: The evaluation criteria will be the same as used for Rounds One & Two. All pitches that receive 40 or more total points will be awarded the additional $80,000.

In an effort to offer some guidance and direction on how to structure your Round Three five (5) page white-paper, below is an outline of topics we feel must be addressed.
What are you trying to do? Articulate your objectives using as little jargon as possible.
How is it done today and what are the limitations of current practice?
What is new in your approach and why do you think it will succeed?
How does this address a NASA need? If it is successful, what difference will it make? Who is the POC or Champion for this need?
What are the risks?
What could be reasonably accomplished in 2 years if $500K were available each year?
What are the metrics to check for success in this technology?
What are the mid-term and final "exams" to check for success?
